Patient Fees

Please Note: Our fees have been updated effective 1 July 2024. See below for further details.

We require full payment of consultation fees at the time of appointment. Our facilities allow Medicare rebates to be paid directly into your bank account within 24 hours in most instances.

Appointment non-attendance can result in a fee if the clinic is not notified at least 2 hours in advance.

We review the fee schedules periodically and they may change. For specific information on the cost of our services, please visit the relevant Fee Schedules below:

Please Note: Suggested fee schedule is only a guide and actual gaps charged are at the discretion of the practitioner. Any procedure such as skin excisions, Mirena insertion, Implanon insertion/removal, iron infusions, intravenous medications, ambulatory BP fitting and wound care will incur an additional out of pocket fee to cover consumables. Please speak to our nurses or receptionists to provide an accurate estimate of costs.

Privately billed patients have a clinic Administration & Consumables Surcharge added to their consult fees. The surcharge may vary periodically at the discretion of the clinic. It is in addition to any gap payments listed below.

Surcharges apply when using credit/debit card (fees vary depending on the type of card and the bank).

Fee Changes from 1 July 2024

The State Government has recently decided to impose a payroll tax liability in respect of General Practitioner billings. There have also been significant rising costs associated with operating a medical practice.

As a result of these changes, the General Practitioners at both Total GP Care Norwood and Total GP Care Prospect have been forced to revise their billing policies as follows, effective 1 July 2024.

Total GP Care Prospect

  • Privately billed patients will now have a clinic Administration & Consumables Surcharge added to their consult fees for privately billed consults only.
  • Health Care Card Holders (non-pensioners) and children under the age of 16 will now be required to pay a $20 gap for standard consults, plus the clinic Administration & Consumables Surcharge.
  • Pensioners will generally continue to be bulk billed.
  • Chronic disease consults will continue to be bulk billed for all patients who are eligible.

Total GP Care Norwood

  • Privately billed patients will now have a clinic Administration & Consumables Surcharge added to their consult fees for privately billed consults only.
  • Chronic disease consults will continue to be bulk billed for all patients who are eligible.

These additional fees are necessary to ensure we maintain our current service levels so that your GP's can continue to provide you with essential medical services. We thank you in advance for your understanding.
